From Roman Origins

0.580m x 1.800m
The river Ivel is seen weaving through the mosaic design. Birds of the region are also visible. The left hand and central circles are references to Roman Sandy and in between both is a Roman brooch (exhibited in the Sandy Town Council offices). On the right is a reference to Sandy watermill mentioned in the Doomsday Book. You will also notice images of the railway and Great North Road, used by the artist as a link with the other mosaics in the trail between the three towns.
