Bikes and Cars

0.450m x 2.500m
The left hand side of the panel celebrates Dan Albone's array of bicycles, Penny Farthings, Tandems and standard bicycles.
The right hand side of the panel shows Berkeley sports cars, designed by Lawrence Bond. The company employed about 650 people at its height. In this picture Jean Dye and Phyllis Glen are seen taking a new car out of storage. In the background are different models in different colours. Berkeleys (formerly Shragers) made caravans at their Hitchin Street works. Their longest caravan was the 34ft Governer-General and the smallest the 8ft Caravette.
