The Peel Family Coat of Arms.

The Coat of Arms of the Peel family is over the door of the main entrance.
The Lodge was built in 1870 for Arthur Wellesley Peel (Captain Peel's brother), Speaker of the House of Commons from 1884-95. He lived in The Lodge until his death in 1912. The house remained in the Peel family until 1934.
The Lodge is now the UK Headquarters of the RSPB.
